Remixing music

By: Matt.. Byrom..

Remixing music is no longer as complicated as it used to be, there are numerous sound mixing software available that make the task of remixing simpler. Not every DJ has access to recording studios and recording fresh beats/ music for remixes is a difficult task. Today, almost every remix is made using software, and the ease with which tracks can be cut and rearranged has made remixing music from the comfort of one’s home a reality.

To better understand how sound clips are playing an essential role in remixing of music, the first step is understanding how a remix is made. Audio remixing software allows a DJ to mix various tracks using a timeline method, in essence a DJ can decide which audio track or audio clip plays at what time. Essentially, a remix is a digital file that has various beats and audio clips playing at different times. As mentioned earlier in the article, the difficult task is finding the right beat or the right audio clip to use. Depending on their requirements DJs can access digital clips for free or pay for newer audio clips for use in remixes.

To encourage upcoming DJs, remix contest websites allow DJs to download audio tracks and beats at no cost at all. Remix contest websites are a blend of free to use clips and paid clips (that require royalty to be paid to the producer of the music track). In any case, downloading just a part of the audio track is far more cost effective compared to getting the rights to use the entire track. In addition, remix contest websites are more than just e-commerce websites, remix contest websites are a place where DJs can get together share ideas, upload their latest remixes and discuss their passion for remixes and music.

A registered user can upload his latest remixes, get in touch with other DJs, know about the latest developments in the music world and even find out which tracks are being downloaded by other DJs. It is important for DJs to have their hand on the pulse of the music industry and know which remixes are ’in’ and which ones are ‘out’.

It is important to understand that remix contest websites are more than just e-commerce websites that allows DJs to download beats and audio clips and compete with each other. Many remix contest websites are actively promoting upcoming talent by allowing DJs to upload their latest tracks. In fact, the time is not far when talent scouts and prominent DJs start visiting remix contest websites to scout fresh talent. Apart from encouraging upcoming DJs, remix sites are also a great ways for DJs and music lovers to interact with each other. Although remix contest websites do not claim to be social networking sites and do not offer complicated chat applets or online video chatting, there is no denying such site are helping DJs from all over the world come together and share their music and thoughts.

Pilon And Plena - History And Development Drummers Guide

By: Eric Starr

Much like the Mambo or the Guaguanco, Pilon, the two measure Afro Cuban pattern has both a signature conga pattern and also a signature timbale melody. When adapted to the drum set, the snare hand commonly plays the timbale pattern while the feet and ride hand play repetitive patterns. The drum set pattern itself has similarities to Cumbia, though the roots of the two styles are not related. The pattern is based on a 2-3 son clave rhythm (not usually played by a drum set player). The tempo is quarter note = one hundred seventy two to two hundred twenty two beats per minute.

Plena (\"full\") blossomed in Puerto Rico during the latter part of the 1880s, most notably in and around the city of Ponce. Much like Bomba (Puerto Rico\'s most popular musical style), Plena\'s roots are in the slaves, sugar cane laborers, farmers and others who migrated to the urban areas of Puerto Rico. The style incorporates characteristics of many cultures, including West African, Spanish, Cuban, and even European. Plena is often referred to as \"el periodico cantado\" (\"the sung news paper\") because its lyrical content reflects local daily news and gossip, and regional historical events. The genre is a dance related style which has gained popularity throughout Central America. Many instruments have contributed to the sound of Plena, percussion instruments such as congas, timbales, maracas, guiros, and panderos (similar to a small tambourine minus the metal jingles), as well as the accordion, the cuatro (four stringed guitar), and often, large orchestras all contributed to the sound of Plena.

Though not an original Afro Cuban style, Plena influences and sections are frequently found in contemporary Afro Cuban arrangements. Joselino \"Bumbum\" Oppenheimer is \"the father of Plena,\" while composer Gary Nunez and bands such as Los Pleneros de la Twenty One and Los Pleneros del Batey have contributed to the development of this style. There is no standard drum set or percussive rhythm for Plena. A strong characteristic is the simple, quarter note bass drum pattern found in the rhythm and the variation of the rhythmic pattern is appropriate when playing without a conga player. The variation (Soca) is best used when a conga player is present. Notice that the Soca rhythm is only one bar long, and is counted and felt in a medium 4/4 pulse, which takes the same time as playing two bars of a Plena rhythm. Though it\'s a two measure pattern, the clave rhythm is not usually played in Plena.

Plena makes use of a characteristic rhythm which emphasizes beats one and three and is organized into a pattern which suggests it may have grown into a relationship with the Merengue of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Today, the rhythm of the Plena has been adapted to the music of the bands which play in the larger cities of Puerto Rico and compositions in the Plena rhythms are arranged in a style similar to that used for other forms of Afro Caribbean music. The tempo range is usually swift at quarter note two hundred and eight to two hundred seventy six beats per minute.

Piano Lesson: Learn To Play O Christmas Tree

By: Peter Edvinsson

In this lesson you will learn to play the melody to a popular Christmas song without the use of sheet music. You will also learn to play three easy chords together with the melody. Let us start!

O Christmas Tree is a Christmas carol of German origin. O Tannenbaum is its original name in German.

A Tannenbaum is German for a fir tree or Christmas tree. The melody to this Christmas song is an old folk tune and the best known lyrics comes from a Leipzig organist and teacher named Ernst Anschutz in 1824.

Here is the first verse in the English version:

O Christmas Tree O, Christmas Tree

Your branches green delight us!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

Your branches green delight us!

They\'re green when summer days are bright

They\'re green when winter snow is white

O, Christmas Tree, O, Christmas Tree

Your branches green delight us!

The first thing we will do is to locate the middle C on your keyboard. On an ordinary piano keyboard it is located in the middle of the keyboard sometimes near the keyhole if there is one.

On a common piano keyboard you will find that the notes C-B are repeated along the keys. One such row of notes are called an octave and since the middle C is located in the fourth octave on an piano it is sometimes called C4.

Even if your keyboard is smaller with less octaves middle C is still called C4.

We will now take a look at the melody to O Christmas Tree and the chords you can play with your left hand. We will begin with the melody together with the lyrics:

O (F)Christmas Tree O, Christmas Tree

C4 (F)F4 F4 F4 G4 G4 G4 G4

The (F) in the lyrics and melody indicate that you shall play an F-major chord with your left hand together with the note after the chord. How then do you play an F-major chord?

There are many ways to play an F chord but here is an easy example for your left hand:

F: C3 F3 A3

C3 means that you play a C in the octave to the left of the C4. Play the three notes in the chord together as you play the following right hand note.

Time for the next line:

Your (C7)branches green de(F)light us

A4 (C7)G4 A4 Bb4 E4 (C)G4 F4

The note Bb is the black key immediately to the left of B.

As you can see it is time for a new chord, C7. Here is a suggestion for that piano chord:

C7: C3 E3 Bb3

Now you have to repeat the previous lines before we proceed with the next part:

They\'re (F)green when summer (C7)days are bright

C5 (F)C5 A4 D5 C5 (C7)C5 Bb4 Bb4

C5 is the C in the octave to the right of C4.

Time for the next line:

They\'re (C7)green when winter (F)snow is white

Bb4 (C7)Bb4 G4 C5 Bb4 (F)Bb4 A4 A4

Now we only have to repeat the first two lines and we are done!

O (F)Christmas Tree O, Christmas Tree

C4 (F)F4 F4 F4 G4 G4 G4 G4

Your (C7)branches green de(F)light us

A4 (C7)G4 A4 Bb4 E4 (C)G4 F4

I suggest that you learn this little song by heart one line at a time. Practice every line first with your right hand melody until you master it. Then it is time to add your left hand chords. When you know a line by heart with melody and chords it is time to proceed with the next line.

Before you know it you have completed the song and can contribute to the Christmas spirit in a new setting!

Music Downloads For Christmas

By: Shaun Parker

Ok, there's only two weeks to go until Christmas Day and I've only bought half the presents I need to get.

My son's list is getting longer by the day and apart from a stereo it consists of mainly CD's. He's written in the minor detail because, being an old, ancient dad like I am, what would I know about modern music!

Apart from the fact that it'll be me shouting up the stairs for him to turn it down when the plates and glasses in the cupboards are shattering to the floor.

Apart from the usual smellies and chocolates, I have no idea what to get my own mother for Christmas, or my sister.

Trawling round the shops in my dinner break, barged out of the way by fellow shoppers and having my feet stood on a hundred times by sticky toddlers is not my idea of fun. I'm fast losing the Christmas spirit. With 10 minutes left before I have to get back to work I make it to the music store.

This is a vast black space with the most unearthly noise banging away so I can't hear myself asking the assistant for what is on my list. Giving up, I attempt to find it myself.

Making my way through the crowds I bump into someone who shouts hello sir to me. Looking up I feel a slight stomach churning fear to see a young man tattooed and pierced beyond recognition. From his greeting I assume he was a former pupil at the school where I teach but he is gone before I get chance to work out which one. I give up and go back to work.

That night, exhausted from work, I decide to try a spot of internet shopping for the Christmas presents. I type my son's music choices into my PC and am bombarded with a choice of where to buy from but time is limited as is stock.

Then I come across a site advertising music downloads for an Mp3 player - whatever that is! Further reading shows me that I can purchase a pretty cool looking gadget called an Mp3 player for my son for a very reasonable price then download all the music he could want with the added bonus that I won't be able to hear it.

I don't have to search for his choice, just type in what he has listed and the music downloads onto my PC. Feeling very pleased with my discovery, I go straight out the next day and buy an Mp3 player. That night, when Henry is in bed, I transfer all the music downloads onto the new gadget and test it out. This isn't bad stuff actually.

So, that's him sorted out. But now I have the bug and begin to widen my search of music downloads. This is shopper's heaven and I'm here until late into the night! I download a Chuck Berry album for my mother and a Kenny Rogers album for my sister.

My last music download is The Prodigy album - just for me. Who says I'm old?!

Old Violin Shop: What To Look For

By: Daniel Wright

It doesn't matter if you have played the violin since childhood, or if you're wishing to begin taking lessons as an adult, there is much to think about when looking for a violin on the internet. These considerations consist of price, locality of the violin, superiority, and things being offered with the violin. One should surf the internet for a reputable old violin shop in order to locate high-quality violins for sale.

Cost is the first and foremost concern in any purchase you make. This cost can be outstanding when shopping for a musical instrument. A fiddle or violin can cost anywhere from one hundred to a million dollars and the one you choose can be somewhere between these amounts. Buying a cheaply made instrument would not be worth the time and energy involved. A quality violin can be expected to cost around a thousand dollars. You may want to consider learning to play a different instrument if you don't want to spend this much.

In today's world where online technology has made it easy to find an old violin shop anywhere in the world, there may be some reasons to stick to the traditional shopping near home concept. In purchasing an instrument from an old violin shop found online, there are several risks associated. For example, the instrument can be damaged during shipping and they are very sensitive to weather variations. For this reason, if having an instrument sent from a distance is the method one chooses, it is best to consider insurance on the product.

The instrument's quality is of utmost importance. Why bother learning to play a low quality instrument? The music will never have a high quality sound. A low quality instrument will also break easily and tends to slip out of tune. These are a few reasons why you should consider cost as an important purchasing factor.

Often the fiddle comes with a bow and case, these are items that are extras, but which you will want to compare when choosing your violin. A good quality case or bow is also fairly expensive, so if these are included with your violin, then you are probably getting a pretty great deal.

One of the most intricate of all musical instruments is the violin. It is sensitive to its environment and is very delicate to use. It is possible to buy a few high-quality violins that are in disrepair and take the pieces to a repair shop. They may be able to fix them together into a complete instrument.

Music Choices On The Internet

By: Jim Brown

The internet is filled with all sorts of information that a music lover would love to have. They might truly enjoy having the latest music selections on their handheld devices and know that they can enter any music site on the internet and download their music selections in a matter of minutes. The access to the world of music does not end with this task, but only serves to make accessing music more pleasurable.

Fans will truly be pleasured when they are able to hear the latest album of their favorite music group. Some people can only listen to bits and pieces of an album, but music listeners that use the internet are given pristine access to music clips, music videos and even interviews that their favorite artist participated in at some point in their career.

Fans are more in touch with the people that make the music because of the access that the internet affords them to those people. Fans can download album covers and use them as art on the walls of their home, and to help personalize the cover of a compact disk that they copied that is filled with their favorite music artist's product. They know that the online music stores give music artists the credit they deserve and all the royalties that come from each music download a fan makes on the internet.

The music choices that are available on the internet are not limited to only music files. Fans can search for audio books that were written to glorify the life of rock legends or the people that mastered hip hop music. Every piece of music has a story behind it. Music fans feel good about having access to the fine little details that go with creating music.

Music artists can share their thoughts and tell fans how their music careers got started. They can share their trials and tribulations that they experienced on the road during a world tour. A music artist can share some inner thoughts that run very deep and fans can learn how a music artist dealt with a drug addiction or a disabling disease. The choices in music on the internet run deep at times but are always retrievable when a fan uses an internet search engine.

People place more value in buying music from an internet music store because they get more for their money. A land-based music store can only offer a few posters and a music selection on compact disk. A music fan online can learn about the artist, buy the music and share it with friends by attaching it to an email. They can also use the music downloads to customize their music listening pleasure at any time.

Moving the Punk Rock World

By:

Few rock bands can define the musical genre of punk rock as well as the Misfits. Along with popular acts such as the Sex Pistols, this band helped to define punk rock, as well as create an offshoot of its own, referred to as horror punk. This band has had several transformations in its members but has always kept the punk rock spirit alive.

When the band first formed in 1978, Glenn Danzig was the front man of the band. He wrote several songs, played the electric piano, and was singer for the band. The other members at this point were Jimmy Battle, Manny Martinez, and Diane DiPiazza. Jimmy and Diane only stayed with the band about a month before they were replaced by Jerry Caiafa. When the band was set with its members, they went to the studio and began recording.

The Misfits' very first single was called "Cough Cool." They released the song themselves through their own recording label, Blank Records. Though they played a few shows and did not immediately have a large fan base, the band continued to play and worked on its own particular sound. By October they began to be influenced by other punk rockers, such as the Ramones, and brought in a new guitarist, Franche Coma. It was around this time that they caught a break and had the opportunity to record a full-length album. They recorded 17 songs, including "Teenagers from Mars" and "Return of the Fly." By the end of 1977, The Misfits were beginning to gather a fan base, and Manny Martinez was replaced by Jim Cantania. There were no labels that were immediately interested in The Misfits' first album, so the band took four of its songs and released them as an EP under their own label.

The band began touring in support of their EP and began to take on a ghoulish appearance. Two of the band's members were not happy with the direction the band was taking. Franche Coma and Jim Cantania left the band and were quickly replaced with Joey Image and Bobby Steele. The band started touring together over the next year, and Jerry Caiafa began his signature hairstyle to be known by many punk rockers as the "devil lock." The band's fan base was growing, as was their popularity. They were perfecting their horror punk style all along, and they decided to start a fan club dubbed "The Fiend Club."

The band suffered a bad experience on an England musical tour that led to the loss of Joey Image as a band member, though they released another EP shortly after their return. They took some time off to recover and regrouped with more ideas for new band members and replacing some of the old.

This band has had its ups and downs. Their turnover rate has been high, but in the end, The Misfits is a band that helped to define what is now called punk rock. They were not afraid to stand out from others and look to a dark and negative theme to sustain them as rockers. Their devotion and dedication has won them two decades of being involved and very influential in the music business. The Misfits created their own successes and have persevered in the punk rock movement.

Merengue, Beguine And Bolero - History And Development Drummers Guide

By: Eric Starr

Much like Bomba, Merengue traces its roots back to African slaves. Due to French occupation on the island (currently shared by Haiti and the Dominican Republic), the music of the Dominican Republic combined African dance with the French Minuet resulting in the first forms of Merengue in the late 18th to early 19th centuries. Traditional Merengue instrumentation consisted of tambora, guira and accordion. After becoming established as the national dance in the 20th century, it made its way to the United States, primarily through New York City, in the 1950s. It is now a well established form of dance music throughout the world. The typical characteristic of a Merengue drum set pattern is the recurring floor tom figure (originally played on a conga drum) with noticeable use of the floor tom rim as well as a snare drum rim click throughout the patterns. The bass drum pattern is usually a \"four on the floor\" figure (frequently doubled by the hi hat foot). The Merengue is played at a very quick tempo starting around quarter note = 240 beats per minute.

First sung in Creole French, the Beguine developed as ballroom music on the islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique. The authentic Beguine found great international success in the late 1940s, though the most famous interpretation of it appeared in 1938 with Artie Shaw\'s immensely popular rendition of Cole Porter\'s \"Begin the Beguine.\" The authentic Beguine continued to thrive on the two islands until the 1970s, when Haitian immigrants emphasized their own dance music, which drew attention away from the Beguine. In addition to the Guadeloupean ballroom Beguine, there is one other primary form of the Beguine: the Martinican drum Beguine, which is more tribal or African folk oriented than the Guadeloupean Beguine. The more percussive instrumentation of the drum Beguine developed through the slaves and workers on the sugar plantations, while the orchestral Beguine uses the jazz instrumentation of piano, trombone, clarinet, bass, and drums. Tempos may range from as slow as quarter note = 112 beats per minute for ballroom dancing to as bright as quarter note 280 beats per minute for the drum Beguine.

The Cuban Bolero dates back over 200 years to Spanish folk dances of love and romance. The term \"Bolero\" stems from the Spanish verb \"Volar,\" meaning \"to fly,\" exemplified in the elegant moves of the dancers. Around the time that Afro Cuban musical styles matured, toward the end of the 19th century, Cuban composer Pepe Sanchez composed the first known Cuban Bolero, entitled Tristeza (\"Sadness\"). By the early 1900s, the immensely popular Bolero reached Mexico and Latin America, eventually gaining recognition in North America by the late 1920s. Additional significant Bolero composers include Guty Cdrdenas and Agustin Lara from the early 1900s and, more recently, Jose Feliciano. Boleros are a ballad style with slow tempos and sentimental lyrics. The signature Bolero rhythm, originally played with a pair of castanets, is now more commonly played by a pair of maracas. Because of this traditional instrumentation, the drum set player has to duplicate the familiar rhythmic sound with sticks, usually playing it on rims and or hi hat. The tempo range is slow at quarter note = 74-120 beats per minute.

Making Your Dreams Come True through Desire

By: Healthy Wealthy nWise

Who knew a poor child from a broken home would become one of the most famous singers and choreographers of all time? At the age of four, after seeing Gene Kelly perform \"Singing in the Rain\" on television, Paula Abdul began dreaming about a career in song and dance. She began taking ballet lessons when she was only seven years old. Her mother knew nothing about it, and the lessons were provided free of charge in exchange for cleaning the floors and mirrors of the dance studio.

Paula Abdul began choreographing musicals before she took her first dance class. When she was five years old, she conducted childhood friends from her condominium, inviting the adults to see the show. While her mother was cooking, Paula would practice her moves by holding onto the kitchen sink.

Her mother was always encouraging, but in a tough sort of way. Her mother would remind Paula of the heartache she had seen while working as a personal assistant to Billy Wilder. Girls\' dreams were frequently shattered. Paula knew if she was to be successful, she\'d have to find success on her own.

During high school, Paula Abdul was accepted to Juilliard on a dance scholarship, but after one trip to New York, she knew that wasn\'t the life she wanted to lead. She wanted to dance, but she couldn\'t get a job unless she had an agent. She was teaching cheerleading camps, so she decided to try out for the Los Angeles Lakers\' Cheerleading Squad, even though she didn\'t have the body of a typical cheerleader.

Nearly 1000 showed up for Laker Girl auditions. Against all odds, not only was Paula Abdul was chosen for one of only 12 spots, but in her rookie season, she was asked to take over and form a dance squad. In no time, season ticket holders saw the changes and began calling Paula for corporate events.

Paula Abdul went on to choreograph for movies and music. She started out with a movie called \"Can\'t Buy Me Love,\" and when she was only 17 years old, she began working with the Jackson Five. Paula received choreography awards choreographing the musical groups ZZ Top and Duran Duran. In turn, she worked with almost all of the big-name artists of the time choreographing their tours, videos, and live performances.

Paula Abdul finally got to work with her idol Gene Kelly during the last two years of his life. At the same time, she choreographed the Academy Awards and received an Emmy nomination. In secret, not wanting to give up her day job as a choreographer, Paula began making her mark on recording industry only to become a superstar all over again. One of her biggest hits was a song called \"Straight Up.\"

After a plane crash in 1995, Paula Abdul disappeared for a while so she could focus on her health and rehabilitation of injuries. Today, Paula can be seen right along side Simon Cowell on the hit reality television show \"American Idol\" in which thousands of singers are auditioned down to just one winner. Paula is the judge with a heart who gives constructive criticism in a positive way. She also wrote the foreword of the book \"Chicken Soup for the American Idol Soul.\"

Making the Most of Your Music Practice Time

By:

Many individuals enjoy learning how to play musical instruments. However, playing an instrument is not an easy endeavor. In fact, it takes a lot of practice to ensure that one can successfully play an instrument. If you play a musical instrument, and you want to develop a real talent in that instrument, you must practice consistently. Here, we will outline a few basic steps on how to make the most of your music practice time. The steps listed in this guide can apply to each and every musical instrument. So, regardless of what you play, you are likely to benefit from one or more of the tips listed here.

The first thing that you must understand when it comes to making the most of your music practice is that we are often guided by a form of muscle "memory" when we perform certain tasks. Being able to perform certain tasks on a consistent basis allows us to constantly improve in those tasks. For example, when we do things such as walk and type on a continuous basis, our muscles naturally adjust and are trained to perform these movements. This same concept holds true when it comes to making the most of your music practice time.

When you practice playing your musical instrument, it is important that you start off slowly. This does not mean start off only practicing ever so often; it means hit your notes slowly. If you practice the notes in a slow manner, and you do it often, eventually your hands and the muscles that control your hands will begin to get used to the motions. This will eventually put you in a position in which you are moving through practice sessions easily. This is an extremely important element of ensuring success when you practice playing.

Many musicians that practice playing their instruments will practice in a method that is referred to as "cells". This means that you simply use the slow method listed above and do it with only a small amounts of notes. This will help your hands and your mental focus concentrate on a certain piece until it is perfected. Perfection in music practice does not often come from tackling a large piece of music all at once. It is normally a result of tackling small pieces of the composition at a time.

Musicians everywhere practice over and over again. Many musicians find that they have a bad habit that causes them to experience errors in practice. If you discover this characteristic, it is important that you stop everything that you are doing and correct it immediately. You should understand that it takes at least seven times of doing something the right way before you master it. With many individuals, it may take more. However, seven seems to be the ideal number when correcting mistakes while practicing music.

Many professionals who focus on study habits of individuals and music practice insist that it is more productive to take breaks than to push through a lesson. You should practice for a short time, and then give your mind and body a break. This will help to ensure that you are making the most out of your music practices. By pushing yourself, your mind and body is likely to detest. When this occurs, it is quite likely that you will experience a number of mistakes. This can really put a damper on your practice sessions.

If you are a musician, there are many effective strategies that you can use to ensure that you are making the most of your practice sessions. Listed here are just a few of the techniques that can be used to ensure that you are getting the most effective practice in. The important thing is to remain positive and persistent when it comes to practicing your music. This way, you, too, can become a professional player!

Learning How To Play Musical Instruments

By: Jim Brown

Some children could find learning how to play musical instruments very hard in some ways; but, in other ways very interesting. Musical instruments such as the clarinet or the piano are very different from each other in a physical sense, but both of these musical instruments have the same notes that people can learn to play. The clarinet has musical notes that range from the low E and to the high A. The B-flat clarinet is about 23.6 inches long, and has a range of more than three octaves.

The piano is a great musical instrument that consists of eighty-eight notes. The musical range for the musical notes on the piano will range from a low A as the lowest, and the highest note would be the C key. The piano is the easiest musical instrument to learn, and is often selected by beginners because this musical instruments follows the alphabet scale in note placement of A, B, C, D, E, F, G. they also will consist of sharps and flats. Once a beginner learns the fingering techniques for a piano, it is easier to learn how to play other musical instruments because the finger placement techniques will not seem to foreign.

Some musical instruments will need to be tuned in order for them to be played in concert. For a concert pitch, the piano key A above middle C would be tuned to a pitch that was precisely 440.000 Hz. This tuning principle is based on a standard keyboard that is equipped with 88 keys. This type of piano tuning should always be provided by a qualified technician because they have tuning instruments that will ensure that each note emitted from a piano will be just as it should be for concerts and other public performances.

Learning the notes as a young child is a challenge to those who do not practice as much as they need. Children as young as three years of age can learn to play a musical instrument if they have a teacher and are willing to practice every chance they get, but at least thirty to forty minutes a day. Practice lessons will consist of learning the scales, filling in various workbooks, and note-taking skills. There are different types of workbooks that will focus on techniques that your child can use when at home. There are usually five or more workbooks for every level involved in learning to play music and that means there will need to be a lot of practice time devoted to each.

The electronic keyboard can recreate the sounds of different instruments. The keyboard is also a popular version of the piano, but requires electricity. Some keyboards have hands on practice session programs and the key will light up on a song that is put on the keyboard. People that use the keyboard to learn how to play the piano without an instructor think this style of learning is great but the keyboard will not be able to tell a student if the notes are played correctly. It is a good idea for a child to remain in classes with a teacher in order to learn to play a musical instrument to the fullest extent possible.

Learn How to Easily Read Guitar Tabs

By: Jay Field

With all those technical quarter notes and treble clefs, who really has time to learn guitar chords and riffs without spending days, weeks or even months taking private music lessons? Music notation is intimidating, but there is a simple solution to the problem – guitar tablature. Known as tab to professional musicians, it is almost like a diagram that shows guitarists exactly where to place their fingers. Tab presents amateurs and professionals alike with an easy way to learn new guitar chords or even a complete song. Let’s break down the basics.

Where to begin with guitar tabs

Think of it this way - if you can read a map, then you can also learn guitar chords from tab. Tab consists of six horizontal lines, representing the strings of the guitar (similar to a guitar chord chart, only sideways). The low E string is represented by the bottom line, and the other strings follow in succession the highest E. Players simply follow symbols on the lines indicating what string should be pushed, and in what location (fret). For example, if the number one appears on the top line, it indicates that a finger should be placed on the highest guitar string, in the first fret. When multiple numbers appear simultaneously, it indicates that certain strings should be pushed at the same time, in the fret indicated by the numbers provided.

Taking guitar tabs to the next musical level

Most tab will indicate the chord symbol above the lines and fret numbers, so that more advanced players can read along with what they already know. Advanced tab notation may consist of complex instructions from the author. For example, sometimes a guitarist will slap their finger down forcefully on top of a string, creating a different sound. This technique, known as a hammer-on, is often indicated by appearance of the letter h in tab.

Unfortunately, tab does not have a set of standardized rules, and there are many variations. There is also little direction for rhythm and timing, but it will work well for musicians who have a good ear, and a preexisting idea about how something is supposed to sound before they play it. It is best to start by picking out a well known, simple folk melody that is easily identifiable, and then move on to more complex patterns including chords and riffs.

Guitar tabs for every musician

Tab is not only an excellent way to learn new guitar chords; it is also used to notate scales, riffs, or entire songs. Guitarists who wish to try their hand with classical pieces, but do not read standard notation can experience the joy of tackling and mastering challenging pieces. Many publishers create albums of classical pieces which include standard notation, chords, and tab. Every genre is available in tab on the Internet or for purchase in a music store.

One of the greatest aspects of tab is that once you learn how to read it, the notation can be applied to many stringed instruments like the mandolin or bass. The possibilities for a blossoming musician are endless with this simple system. From chord charts to power ballads and sonatas, tab will expand your repertoire to include an unlimited number of pieces.

Learn Guitar: Find Tips Online

By: Daniel Wright

The quality of the guitar that you select is particularly important. It is not worth the exertion experienced in attempting to learn to play on an instrument of inferior quality because it will not sound good. In turn, a poor sounding guitar will undoubtedly cause you to lose interest in your practice which would be a shame. Additionally, the guitar will be more apt to split if it is manufactured inexpensively and out of meager resources. This is chiefly why you should consider buying a high quality guitar. It will make it much easier to learn guitar.

Musical styles like rock and roll and bebop are dependent on quality guitars. A musician can coax a myriad of sounds from the guitar. That lends a diversity to the music that listeners appreciate and is also exciting to the artist. If your purpose in playing a musical instrument is to reveal your personality, the guitar's wide array of sounds offers you the ability to produce music that reflects your many dimensions.

A great way to express yourself is with music. You can truly experience your emotions with music. Try learning how to play guitar no matter what your age. It is not too difficult to learn guitar. There are also other instruments which are fun to play, like piano, clarinet, trumpet, and saxophone. There are options for most everyone.

The large size of instruments like pianos and drums leads to difficulties in their use. It is, for example, sometimes hard to find enough space for them. Other instruments present their own unique challenges. Tubas and trombones are often quite expensive and require a lot of energy to play properly. A good musical alternative is the guitar. It is a straightforward and well-known musical instrument. You can learn guitar and enjoy it during your leisure time.

Possibly you began lessons on an instrument at a very young age and have developed a vast knowledge of the world of instruments. Or, you might be an adult just thinking about starting lessons. Whatever your status within the music community, there are a lot of things to consider when trying to find a new instrument to play. Things to look for include price, quality, and things like music books, racks or cases that come with the instrument. It's easy to find music websites to search for great deals on fine instruments.

There are many different options when looking for a guitar to learn to play. Acoustic guitars are excellent for playing in smaller areas and are good for classical styles and a host of other ones. They also require fewer accessories than electric guitars. Electric guitars have infinite things to offer, however. Either way, the best kinds of guitars are quality guitars.

Laurie Berkner's Music - A Great Hit With Children and Adults Alike

By:

It is not at all surprising that Children's Music Web claims Victor Vito to be the Best Recording for Toddlers and Family Fun Magazine says "Victor Vito is really, truly neato" due to the fact that Laurie Berkner's music is as popular with moms and dads as it is with children!

When listening to the big purple dinosaur sing "I love you, you love me!" it is no longer necessary for adults to put their fingers in their ears or rush to take a painkiller, thanks to Laurie Berkner's talented knack for writing and performing children's tunes. Even though the words of the song may be silly, the music is still appealing to parents who find themselves singing along when listening to the CD's with their children.

Although music played a big part in Laurie Berkner's life, her more recent success as a children's recording artist came as a huge surprise. "It was so unexpected. I'd been performing in rock and struggling to write original music. Writing music for kids has not been a struggle at all. The more I started working on material for children, the more I realized that it opened up creativity in me that I never knew I had." comments Laurie.

Following on from her studies at college, Laurie was employed in the role of music counselor at summer camps, and after that for many years as a children's music specialist in and around the New York area, at day care and preschool centers. This experience of working with children became the ideal outlet for Laurie to express her many creative skills, resulting in what she remarks, "has turned out to be incredibly rewarding."

There are a total of three members in Laurie's band, long term friend and pianist Susie Lampert and Laurie's bassist husband, Brian Mueller. As well as her video and CD's, a new DVD is to be released in the near future. Laurie, a mom living in Princeton, New Jersey, performs on the TV show, Noggin on a daily basis. This is the only educational channel devoted to children of preschool age, twelve hours a day and seven days a week, totally uninterrupted by commercials.

If you check out the song titles on the Victor Vito CD, Victor Vito, Bottle Caps, Moon Moon Moon, Froggie Went A-Courtin', I'm Not Perfect, The Toy Museum, O Susannah, BOOTS, Oleanna, The Crabs, Sneaks, The Goldfish, Zodiac, Trucks, Fruit Salad Salsa, The Story of my Feelings, I Feel Crazy so I Jump in the Soup, Shakin' Down the Sugar, Googleheads, Tingolayo, White Coral Bells, Goodnight , the reason this is such a fun collection will be abundantly clear.

Lots of Laurie's songs are simply good to sing along to create a feeling of happiness, whilst a great life lesson is tucked neatly inside Laurie's acoustic guitar, flute, harmonica, horns and maracas. So if you are searching for children's audio which will bring you enjoyment at the same time, Laurie Berkner is an artist you should definitely consider. You can learn more about Laurie on her webiste - just google the name for the site details.

Jordan Rudess The Road Home Heavy Metal Music CD Review

By: Clyde Lee Dennis

The exceptionally talented Heavy Metal artist Jordan Rudess has released him CD entitled The Road Home. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Jordan Rudess fans, and Heavy Metal fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of The Road Home Jordan Rudess’s artistic excellence is on full display as Rudess has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be him best work to date.

Unfortunately, it’s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with The Road Home. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

The Road Home has a nicely varied, mix of 6 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly gifted artist. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are him own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.

Overall The Road Home is an outstanding release. What I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up and is most definitely a worthy addition to any Heavy Metal collection. Truly an outstanding Heavy Metal CD. One of those that is completely void of any wasted time, as each track is simply superb.

While this entire album is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 3 - Just The Same, track 2 - Sound Chaser, and track 6 - Tarkus.

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 - Dance On a Volcano. Great track!

The Road Home Release Notes:

Jammin with Jimmy and Jimmy

By: lyndon ogden

The crowd (my mum and sister) goes wild as I effortlessly switch from one vintage Gibson Guitar solo to another. Who knows when \'Purple Haze\' stops and \'Whole Lotta Love\' starts when faced with such virtuosity. Just when it seems it can\'t get any better I give them the full force of my vocal chords

\"You need coolin, baby, Im not foolin,

Im gonna send you back to schoolin,

Way down inside honey, you need it,

Im gonna give you my love,

Im gonna give you my love.\"

\"Gotta whole lot of love\"

The music stops and I wait for the crowd to applaud. And I wait and I wait until my Mum say\'s \"very nice dear, would you like a coffee\". Taking this as a sure sign that mere applause would not convey the depth of their gratitude, I retire to plan my next show-stopping extravaganza.

In my head I hear the two Jimmy\'s (backing band) speaking to each other \"it\'s all over mate, we can\'t compete with this guy\" \"Yeah man, the bar has been set too high for me\".

Sad but true folks. I am the man who killed rock music as we know it and then like a phoenix from the flames started a whole new genre of music called \'airhead rock\'.

\'Airhead rock\' was born on the day I bought a 1958 Les Paul Gibson. Instantly I morphed from a guy with no talent to the rock god person I am today playing to a fully packed kitchen.

If you want to experience the same then beg or borrow the money to buy yourself a vintage Gibson Guitar. The transformation is immediate and well worth the money.

This program can actually read the existent data that is to be found in the case of every CD in order to rewrite it in various formats. So, all the files will become easy to share among people and they can be even posted around the entire internet. There is another reason for this problem that has surfaced the music industry, namely the fact that music is likely to be very popular with certain social groups that have the necessary access to the technology in order to create their Personalized Music. What makes a good promotion a great promotion campaign? It's simple - consistency! That Is the key defining difference. If you want to be sure your music gets attention, stands out, and gets maximum exposure to your MySpace fanbase...You need to make sure that anyone that comes to your MySpace page see that you are getting people listening to your music

This shows the music executives and fans that you are popular and that your music stands out to thousands of fans EVERYDAY! Again consistency is key. Use the same tools that the major superstar artists use by having a professional service execute the many strategies.

How many plays should I get in a day?

You can get up to 20,000 and more, but it's not a very good strategy. Gradual increases are best, not exceeding 5000 -20,000 plays a day will help you get better positioning and allow you to remain longer on the Myspace Charts.

Don't let fans come to your page and see 20, 30, or 50, plays! People like to be a part of something big and don't want to miss out. When they see a high song play count and see that your song plays are increasing, they will be more likely to click and listen to your music and become friends and fans.

How long will I stay on the MySpace charts?

New artists are promoting their music every day and it is competitive. To keep your chart position or to continue climbing you must get plays regularly. MySpace updates their charts every day. If another artist outperforms you in plays and regularly promotes then you will lose your chart position.

It is worth repeating - Consistency is Key! We also highly recommend that you take a screenshot of the charts so you can use for promotion purposes for magazines, news stories, radio promotion etc.

You know have the resources to use the same promotional strategies as todays top current artist-take a lead role in getting your band, artist or music noticed!

The best way to get record labels, venues and music managers to call you and get signed is to get Myspace plays, get more plays, Myspace music player promo, get more myspace music plays, increase Myspace plays, myspace friend adder, friend adder, myspace adder, myspace mp3 increase, mp3 plays, boost Myspace music plays, get more plays, band promotion, myspace promotion, promote my band, Myspace bands,

Use all tools availiable to you such as Myspace top artists, Myspace codes, Myspace music, glitter graphics, Myspace Backgrounds, Myspace layouts, Record, Increase plays get signed, how to get a record deal, get myspace plays , more myspace plays , increase myspace plays , music promotion , music marketing

If You've Picked Up Bad Habits Learning To Play The Guitar, Here's How To Undo Them

By:

If you\'ve picked up bad habits when you\'ve learned how to play the guitar (most likely informally rather than through formal lessons), they can be detrimental to your playing and sometimes can bother listeners as well. However, you can easily undo them once you know you have them and learn how to play the guitar properly. Here are some easy things you can do that will help you to relearn good habits when you play the guitar.

First, you have to realize what your bad habits are. This will help you determine what might be causing you difficulty when you play the guitar.

Second, you should stop playing music (at least temporarily) where they always show up, such as in bad picking habits, for example. It may help you to go all the way back to basic guitar playing, as though you were just learning. Even though it may take several months to remove them, you can do this by going all the way back to your foundations and practicing correctly. Once you do this, it\'s easy to learn how to play properly.

Third, once you realize that you\'ve developed bad habits, try to determine exactly how you got them. Once you do this, it\'s relatively easy to learn the proper way to do something.

Fourth, if you\'ve picked up bad habits for a particular reason, it can help to know exactly why you did this. Once you know, it\'s much easier to undo them. You can then relearn proper habits and once again enjoy playing the guitar.

Fifth, once you\'ve relearn proper habits, make sure you always practice them when you play. It may seem strange or unnatural to do this at first, but as you become used to your new habits, they will become as much a habit as your previously improper playing techniques were before.

If you\'re consistent with the above steps, you will be rid of any bad habits very shortly. Once these new habits are as much second nature to you as your previously \"bad\" habits were, you can go back to playing the songs you temporarily stopped playing when you were relearning your new habits. You\'ll see that you consistently practice your new habits even with these songs that were previously rife with bad habits.

Even though it may be a bit of a struggle at first, it\'s relatively easy to change them into good ones. Most people say that it takes roughly 30 days of practicing a new behavior before you supplant the old one. Therefore, it\'s not so much a matter of getting rid of bad habits as it is simply replacing them with good ones. Once you learn to play the guitar with proper technique, you will no longer have these bad habits. New guitar players need never have them in the first place if proper technique is used right from the start.

How to Play the Keyboard

By: Brian Shelton

Learning how to play the keyboard has several advantages over learning how to play the piano. Although you might think learning one is as simple as the other, the keyboard as an instrument is superior in many ways.

With a piano, you only have one type of instrument that you can play...the piano itself. Electronic keyboards allow you to mimic the sounds of dozens of different instruments. Some more expensive models can mimic the sounds of hundreds of instruments and allow your to lay tracks...right on the keyboard!

When you learn how to play the keyboard, you are learning all of those instruments without having to take additional lessons. Sounds can include:

Many types of pianos (grand piano, electronic, etc.)

Percussion instruments

Organs of all kinds (even harmonica!)

Stringed instruments (violin, viola, cello, contrabass)

Brass instruments (trumpet, tuba, trombone)

All of the Woodwinds (clarinet, flute, saxophone)

Sitar

Banjo

Bag Pipe

The piano sounds that come from a keyboard can include grand piano, electric piano, honky-tonk and many, many more! There may even be special effects available like bird noises, telephone rings and other novelty sounds.

When you learn how to play the keyboard, you\'ll also get to choose from a variety of background sounds that can accompany your main melody. You can normally choose from one of the following:

Pop

Dance

Rock

Jazz

Latin

Hip-hop

More advanced keyboard models may have more choices.

Learning play the keyboard is perfect for beginning music students. There are keyboard models that will show you each note that needs to be played next. It is an easy method of learning that guides students into a better understanding of music.

Playing with a keyboard is also more portable than playing a piano. A keyboard, if it is small enough, can go anywhere with you. This makes it easy to practice in different environments.

Keyboards are easy to find. While pianos can cost thousands of dollars, you can find a keyboard for as low as in the classified ads.

There are more complex keyboards that cost much, much more. But for a small investment you can decide if playing the keyboard is really right for you. In the future, you can upgrade your keyboard choice to a more featured model.

Learning play the keyboard is one of the easiest and most fun ways to get into music. There are plenty of songs available for the keyboard, and with practice there is no limit to what you can play! You can experiment a lot with the keyboard; and even create your own one-man band, complete with drums, piano, horns, string instruments and possibly even your own voice. Who knows? You may even produce a demo that you could send to a music executive. The possibilities can be endless!

How To Master Singing Breath Control

By: Chris Chew

Good breathing technique is crucial for voice control when singing. Singers will never be able to sing powerfully, sustain a tone gracefully and sing with passion without mastering good breath control technique.

When you are drawing in breath for singing, breathe from the bottom of your lungs upwards. When good breathing technique is mastered, you will be able to feel the breath all around your lower abdomen, not just at the front. Your chest and shoulders may begin to lift as you draw in your breath but do not let them lift or else the singing voice will sound strained and tensed.

You will be frustrated with your singing effort if shallow breathing is your breath control foundation. Shallow breathing is air stored on your upper lungs where your throat and the upper chest meet. Correct and good breathing technique begins with the diaphragm and the breath support muscles.

The key to correct use of diaphragm and breath support muscles is the expansion of your lower abdomen when taking in your singing breath. You have to exercise and develop this technique until it comes naturally to you as a breathing habit even when you are breathing normally when not singing.

As you are practicing your singing breath control technique, do take notice of how much noise you make when you draw your breath. This is because many singers believe that a noisy breath is a deep breath which is not true.

When you breathe, take sips of air and not gulps. Silent quiet breathing should be the aim of a good breathing technique. Again, practice silent quiet breathing until the technique becomes ingrained into your natural singing habit.

Noisy breathing is usually caused by a constricted throat and is an obvious indication of shallow breathing contrary to what many singers think. If you are afraid to expand your tummy when you are taking in your singing breath for fear of looking fat, this will lead to having tension in your tummy and your diaphragm with its breath support muscles will not be working at its peak as they ought to be.

Most singers are not even aware that they are holding back all these tensions. One of the most important techniques for good singing is to relax so that you can achieve the so called 'floating voice'. With so much tension in the singing support system, the relaxed floating voice will be difficult, if not impossible to achieve.

This tension is probably caused by years of stomach in-chest out posture inculcated since young. Enough said. Now, let's start with a vocal exercise to find out how to master good singing breath control.

Start with taking a few silent quiet breaths. As you draw in the air, expand your lower abdominal all around including the sides and the lower back. Make a mental note on how a quiet breath feels like.

Next, release the air steadily and singing the vowel 'Ahhh' as you release the air with your tummy going back to its original position.

Did you notice that the vocal sound quality that you have just produced is steadier and has a floating tone attached to it?

It must be emphasized that the amount of air required for good singing is actually very little and so a proper amount of air attached to a note should be just adequate.

Mastering this singing breath control technique will take you on your way to become a much better singer.

Guitar Amps - Many Options And Details

By: Daniel Wright

The guitar is among the most widely revered musical instruments today. Whether you attribute its widespread popularity to the affection women seem to feel for guitarists or some other consideration, the guitar is a fashionable instrument. There are a multitude of musical bands on the planet playing rock, heavy metal, and many other musical styles. But most have one thing in common and that is the use of guitars.

There are many types of guitars; acoustic guitars, bass guitars, electronic guitars, etc are some of them. While there is no need for an acoustic guitar to have an amplifier, the electronic guitar cannot do it's thing without an amplifier. Just as the name suggests, an amplifier 'amplifies' the sound of the guitar.

There are many types of guitar amplifiers or better known among musicians as, "guitar amps". Some amps include processors and some are just simple amplifiers. Amplifiers can vary from low to high output. When playing different genres of music (e.g. pop, rock, heavy metal, etc.), the guitar begins to need different types of amplifiers.

So-called "guitar amps" are used, for example, to generate the high-treble sounds in some musical compositions. Some genres, however, such as rock, contain heavy solos, which require heavier amplifiers with built-in distortion and other effects. These amplifiers actually have a microprocessor inside, which generates the different sounds. There are also other genres that require specialized amplifiers.

The selection of guitar amplifiers also depends largely on the style and quality of music one desires to play. There is a wide variety of electric guitars available today. This has resulted in the availability of a large number of guitar amps. Moreover, for a bass guitarist, there is a particular type of amplifier available in the market. This is known as a "bass amplifier".

Selection of guitar amplifiers ceases to be a difficult affair if you know exactly what you want. It is advisable to buy amplifiers of those brands which are established ones. If you have to play the guitar indoor, then you should opt for a 40-watt amplifier. However, if you have to play outdoor then you should buy high-output guitar amps. If you carefully consider your guitar, playing style/genre, and usual venue, you will then be able to select the most appropriate guitar amplifier for your own individual needs.

Guaguanco - Mambo - History And Development Drummers Guide

By: Eric Starr

A folkloric and intimate dance style Guaguanco, is the most popular form of Afro Cuban Rumba. Rumba\'s roots can be traced back to Africa as well as southern Spain (\"Rumba Flamenca\"\'). During the early part of the 20th century, Guaguanco music style has emerged as the most prevalent form of Rumba due to its fast, energetic, and passionate rhythm character.

A distinguishing sound of the Guaguanco is the conga rhythm pattern (the pattern that would be played on the congas in an ensemble without a drum set). As in other drum set patterns, the conga melody is played with the snare hand. The ride hand plays the Cascara pattern while the bass drum emphasizes the Bombo note (plus of beat two on the \"3\" side of the clave). The hi hat foot can either play beats two and four or beats one and three in both measures of the rhythmic pattern.

For advanced playing technique, the hi hat foot may play the rumba clave pattern simultaneously. (It\'s a good idea to include a separate pedal to strike a wood block or cowbell mounted on a Gajate bracket). The Guaguanco is a two measure, up tempo pattern based on a 3-2 rumba clave and is usually started on the \"3\" side of the clave. Quarter note = two hundred bpm.

The Mambo instrumentation, improvisation, and musical voicing of American Swing fused with Cuban son rhythms is arguably the most prominent and recognizable style in Afro Cuban music. Although based on a dance that developed in the early 1940s in Havana, its name comes from an instrument originally used in Bantu rituals.

It first appeared as an \"open section\"\' of the Danzon in the late 1930s, featuring improvisation by both dancers and musicians; but as a result of its popularity, the Mambo section started being played and recognized as its own style of music. It reached New York City by the late 1940s and attained its greatest popularity by the mid 1950s. Today, Mambo\'s influence is found in virtually all Salsa music. While Cuban artists such as Israel \"Cachao\" Lopez, Arsenio Rodriguez, and Orestes created the Mambo, musicians such as Tito Puente and Dizzy Gillespie (in songs such as \"Manteca\" translation: \"Lard\") did much to develop it. The drum set player faces quite a challenge when performing an authentic Mambo, due to the demand for limb independence.

The ride hand covers the common Mambo bell pattern (originally played by either a timbale player or a Bongo bell player), while the snare hand replicates the signature pattern from the congas. The bass drum supports the Tumbao pattern played by the bassist, sometimes in unison, other times broken up. The hi hat foot can either play beats two and four or beats one and three in both measures. For advanced playing, much as when incorporating the clave into the Guaguanco, the hi hat foot may play the son clave pattern simultaneously. The Mambo is a two measure, up tempo pattern based on a 2-3 son clave; it can be started on either the \"2\" or \"3 \" side of the clave. Quarter note = two hundred bpm.

Growing Popularity of My Chemical Romance

By:

My Chemical Romance is one of the newer popular American bands out there on the market. The band was formed shortly after the terrorist attacks that occurred September 11, 2001. The lead singer, Gerard Way, was so touched by his firsthand witnessing of the planes crashing into the World Trade Center towers that he wrote a song about it called "Skylines and Turnstiles."

It wasn't long after he wrote that song that My Chemical Romance became a reality. Slowly the band picked up members, from Matt Pelissier to Ray Toro and Mikey Way, and slowly My Chemical Romance became a reality.

Then drummer Matt Pelissier hosted recording sessions right in his home. In Pelissier's attic, creations like "Our Lady of Sorrows" and even "Cubicles" went from idea into reality. The band garnered thousands of fans by networking through MySpace, eventually landing their dream of signing a real record deal in 2002 with Eyeball Records. At that point the band had caught up with their new guitarist Frank Lero. He was originally of the band Pency Prep, but the band had become dismantled, giving Lero the freedom to bring a little something extra to My Chemical Romance.

The band went on to sign with Reprise Records the following year in 2003 and even released their second album, "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge." Although they only released three singles from it, My Chemical Romance's sophomore album went platinum within the year. Matt Pelissier was no longer the drummer for the band because of some argument with one of the other band members, and Bob Bryar had stepped in to take over. They have opened for Green Day, been on the Vans Warped Tour, and even had tours of their own.

A sign of true success in the music industry, My Chemical Romance released its own DVD or CD box set called "Life on the Murder Scene." There is a DVD with all the ins and outs of the band and another DVD with music videos and band footage, as well as a CD included.

The third CD for My Chemical Romance is currently in the works, and there is word that it is nearing completion. They are often classified as rock, emo, or alternative music, but My Chemical Romance was created with a purpose, and they have stuck to their original vision rather closely. They received their first exposure through Myspace, yes, but My Chemical Romance has made it through the Internet into a popular and successful presence in the music industry.

Gibson Guitars: Express Yourself

By: Daniel Wright

Music is an excellent way to communicate your emotions. It is a great outlet for self-expression. Whether you are old or young, it is never to late to learn to play musical instruments. There are so many different kinds of instruments that there is sure to be one to appeal to everybody. Examples of fun instruments to play include the piano, the trumpet, the saxophone, the drums, and guitar.

One problem with playing instruments like drum sets and pianos is that they take up a lot of space, and most homes aren't large enough to house them comfortably. Brass instruments, like trumpets and saxophones, are expensive to purchase and take an enormous amount of energy to play. Therefore, many people have opted to play an instrument that is usually smaller, less expensive, and more popular than other instruments - the guitar.

Whether you have been studying an instrument since your youth or have recently taken up a new hobby of lessons, there are numerous factors to consider when shopping for the right musical instrument, especially if you are conducting your search online. Things to look for are cost, location, quality and accessories included with your purchase. Researching online can provide valuable information about these factors.

Guitars come in many shapes, colors, and sizes. The acoustic guitar is great for small areas and classical pieces. It also requires fewer accessories. Electric guitars have infinite things to offer. Among the top brands are Gibson guitars. Gibson guitars are excellent quality and have great sound.

The value of the guitar that you select is especially essential. It is just not worth the effort in trying to learn to play on an instrument of inferior quality because it will not sound good. And if it doesn't sound good, you probably will become disenchanted before you even had a chance to shine! The guitar will also be more liable to break if it is made cheaply and out of poor materials. The cost-to-quality ratio is important when buying an instrument. You need to look around for a good deal. This is particularly why you should consider buying Gibson guitars.

Musical styles are often influenced by the guitar being used to play them. The Gibson guitar has had a significant impact on rock and roll. The guitar has a wide variety of sounds that can be drawn from it. These diverse styles make the music exciting and innovative.

Fur Elise: Beethoven\'s Mysterious Inspiration

By: Duane Shinn

In the 21st century, the music and notes to Beethoven\'s Fur Elise are the object of millions of Internet searches and downloads every day. The fact that the music is so freely available for download, along with the piece continued popularity in the Internet age, is testament to the great emotional power and musical depth of Beethoven\"s work. Fur Elise is one of the most instantly recognized pieces of music from the Classical era, and it continues to work wonders in the ears and hearts of modern listeners and pianists. But what\'s the story behind this composition? Before downloading the notes to Fur Elise, let\'s take a look at its history.

In fact, the true story behind Fur Elise is shrouded in mystery, and there are many theories behind the events in Beethoven\'s life that lead to the writing of the piece. What\'s more, the manuscript of Fur Elise was undiscovered and unpublished until 1865, nearly 40 years after the composer\'s death. Because of this, obviously, Beethoven could not make any first-hand clarifications about the origins of his work, which became wildly popular almost immediately upon publication.

In reality, Fur Elise is actually just Beethoven\'s note of dedication included with the piece, whose real name is Bagatelle in A minor. A bagatelle is a musical form, literally translating to a trifle, which is usually short, light, and mellow. Meanwhile, the piece is also a Rondo, which is a form, frequently used in the Classical era, which usually follows an A B A C A structure, although there are variations. As its name suggests, the key signature of the piece is A minor, but one of the beauties of Beethoven\'s composition is how he mixes in discordant notes and continuously shifts the tonal center of the music.

Fur Elise translates from German to For Elise, yet Beethoven historians have never figured out who Elise was. One popular theory is that the piece was actually called For Therese, and that because of Beethoven\'s notoriously sloppy handwriting, the original transcriber of the piece simply copied the name wrong. When the piece was written in 1810 Beethoven had recently been involved in a courtship with Therese Malfatti, who eventually turned down Beethoven\'s marriage proposal. This could account for some of the effusive and overwhelming emotion of the music.

Meanwhile, some historians have posited that Beethoven, his heart broken, deliberately changed the name of the piece to a non-existent woman\'s name, in a subtle refutation of the woman or women who snubbed him.

Of course, Beethoven historians acknowledge that it is not possible to know about every single person with whom Beethoven had a relationship. Elise may be a short-time sweetheart who never made it into records of Beethoven. Or, the piece could have been commissioned, and Elise could be the name of someone related to the person who paid for the piece.

Ultimately, it\'s not important who or what Beethoven\'s Elise was, as each person who plays those famous notes can have in mind his or her own Elise. All that is required to play the piece is to have some deep well of emotion to put into the music. It doesn\'t really matter where this emotion comes from. Beethoven clearly had something that he felt strongly about, which makes this one of his most famous and evocative compositions. Most of us cannot even listen to the first, emotionally strained notes of the piece without feeling something in our own hearts.

This emotional intensity is what distinguishes Beethoven from many of his contemporaries, and it also accounts for the continued popularity of his music, both on paper and in formats that make the notes free to download. Many of us remember hearing Fur Elise as children and being profoundly moved even then and maybe it even inspired us to take up the piano just as our own children are moved by the piece. Because of its pure beauty, Fur Elise should remain popular for as long as music exists.
